Federal and State Work-Study
Federal or State Work Study may be available to you as a student if you demonstrate
financial need through your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). A work study (WS) award indicates that
you are eligible to seek WS employment; however, it is not a guarantee of a job. The
average WS award is $3,000 per academic year. WS awards are not applied to a student
account, but are paid in a bi-monthly pay check to students as they work hours in
a WS position.
Jobs span across the entire campus and to some eligible off-campus employers as well.
Eligible students may work up to 20 hours per week and earn up to $12/hour, depending
on skills, ability, and length of service in the position.
All currently available student employment positions are posted on CareerLink. These positions are only available to students with an accepted WS award.

- Be enrolled in 6 or more credits
- Be free of any financial aid holds (including but not limited to Verification and missing documentation)
- Be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards as defined by MSUB
If you do not have a WS award offered to you on myInfo, you may request consideration, provided you have already completed the FAFSA, by contacting MSUB Financial Aid Office at finaid@msubillings.edu
