Volunteers are needed to help care for animals. Our shelter relies on the generosity of our volunteers to clean the enclosures, keep each animal healthy and socialized. Give us a call today if you’d like to spend some time helping out the animals. Call us at (406) 208-2454.

Do you love the Zoo? Would you like to help make a difference? ZooMontana is powered by committed, enthusiastic volunteers who work side by side with our staff in roles of all kinds to deliver strong customer service and behind the scenes support to create a welcoming and educational environment for our guests of all ages.

We will match your time commitment, talents, and interests with the Zoo’s needs to find the perfect fit. Time commitments varies from regular, ongoing volunteers who serve 2-4 days per month to a per-event basis for community and corporate volunteers.

Come have some fun and volunteer at the Montana Renaissance Festival in Red Lodge the first weekend in June. Volunteers get a free weekend pass after completeing a 4 hour shift (good for two adults and two kids)

Volunteers at the Moss Mansion will participate with staff and crucial, tenured volunteers to assist in various ways. You may volunteer as a docent and site historian to share the history of this historic house museum; visitor services; in the archives or special projects such as with curatorial and education topics; behind-the-scenes event assistance, mansion preservation, andfacility maintenance; or garden and groundskeeping. Apply online to beginning training for your volunteer position.

Volunteers play an integral role at the Yellowstone Art Museum, participating with the staff in carrying out  special events, Art Auctions, organizing curatorial archives, docent tasks, and more. Apply online to get involved.

Volunteers are needed to staff the Resource Center, for LGBTQ+ community building, on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and/or to participate on the 406 Pride committee (no prior experience needed, as training will be provided).

The Songbird Community Garden was established to benefit local residents, nonprofit, and food banks for fresh produce needs. Volunteers are needed for mulching the pathways and common areas around garden, some weeding, and orchard maintenance. Water and snacks are provided. Volunteers will work on ranch "housekeeping" tasks to assist with running the facilities to support the community and education of participants at the YBGR. Volunteers will work along side the youth admitted at the ranch, providing meaningful interaction and socialization with these individuals.
