About MSU Billings
Founded in 1927, Montana State University Billings (MSUB) is the third largest campus in the Montana University System. The university continues to nurture a longstanding tradition of educational access, teaching excellence, civic engagement and community enhancement in an urban setting. With multiple campuses located in the largest city in the state of Montana, MSUB and the community of Billings offer a unique, fulfilling and safe university experience for international students.
Campus Life
Life on the main campus mirrors that of Billings: students are happy to mingle on some of the 110 park-like acres at the base of the spectacular Rimrocks or take part in a variety of cultural, service, athletic or educational activities. International students will find challenges that fulfill both individual goals and societal needs.
Friendly People
International students and scholars are welcomed at MSUB. The campus culture is accepting and student-oriented. A total enrollment of roughly 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students, includes approximately 1,500 at its two-year City College (the West Campus). MSUB is home to a robust international student community, with students from India, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Australia, France, the United Kingdom, Canada, China, Germany, Japan, Korea, Libya, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Guatamala, and more.
Engaging and Encouraging Faculty
The University capitalizes on the expertise of 155 full-time faculty members, of which 108 have doctorates. The average student-to-faculty ratio is 22 students per faculty member, which allows students to get extra support and resources for their classes. Each faculty member brings real world practices to the classrooms for students to gain experience and earn credits at the same time. Various independent studies and internship programs are offered to help students take a step closer to their future. Office hours are set to increase student-faculty interactions.
Incredible Educational Opportunities
In the classroom and in the community, students receive a well-rounded unique education and training for Associate's, Bachelor's and Master's degrees online and in class for careers through the University's five colleges -- Liberal Arts & Social Sciences, Business, Health Professions & Science, Education, and City College. The Intensive English Language Program (IELP) is also offered to prepare international students with their English proficiency. An increasing number of international students are coming each year for better educational and self-development opportunities.
