Admission
Students who wish to join the University Honors Program may apply before or after enrolling at Montana State University Billings. In the spirit of the MSUB motto Access and Excellence, the UHP encourages all students who aspire to excellence to join the program. In this spirit, the UHP also seeks nominations each semester from professors for students who have excelled in their classes.
Prospective Students
We encourage all prospective students to consider joining the UHP. MSUB applicants who have a high school GPA of 3.5, a composite ACT score of 26 or higher, or graduate in the top 20% of their class receive invitations to apply. However, even more important than these markers of past performance are the talent and drive to excel at MSUB.
A UHP application consists of a data sheet, a transcript, and one or more letters of recommendation.
Current Students
We also encourage applications from current MSUB students, especially those who are nominated by professors. While a 3.0 GPA is necessary for graduating with Honors recognition, it is not an admissions requirement.
A UHP application consists of a data sheet and faculty nomination or letter of recommendation.
Transfer Students
We encourage transfer students to apply for the UHP and accept previously earned Honors credits for graduation as a University Honors Scholar.
