Campus and community invited to attend candidate interviews for Director of Library Services

Presentation by Sarah North takes place at 11 a.m., March 15, in LI 302 and Darlene Hert presents at 2 p.m., March 20, in LA 205. Open to the public.

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Next week, Montana State University Billings will begin interviews for the Director of Library Services position.

 

The two remaining candidates will be making presentations that are open to the campus and the public.

 

Sarah North will be presenting at 11 a.m., March 15, in Library Room 302 and Darlene Hert presents at 2 p.m., March 20, in Liberal Arts Room 205.

 

North is currently assistant library director of Casper College, in Casper, Wyoming. She has held the position since 2015. Prior, North serviced as interim director of library services for the College of Western Idaho (CWI) in Nampa, Idaho.  From 2012-2015 she was a librarian at CWI.

 

She completed a B.A. in Foreign Language and Literature, Spanish in 2009 from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington and a Master of Library and Information Studies in 2011 from McGill University, Montreal, Quebec.

 

Hert has served as the technical and access services librarian/City College librarian at MSU Billings since 2008. From 1995 to 2008, she worked at the MSUB Library as its acquisitions and access technician. Her background also includes serving as a micrographics technician for the Bureau of Reclamation and cataloging technician at the Eastern Montana College Library.

 

She graduated from MSUB with a B.S. in business administration in 1981 and earned a Master of Library Science from Texas Woman’s University in 2007.
