MSU BILLINGS NEWS — Montana State University Billings will host a lunchtime lecture, “Castles, Cheese, and Characters: There is something for everyone in the Czech Republic” in the library on August 8.
Lukas Kopulety, a student from the Czech Republic, will present from noon to 1 p.m.
Kopulety was born in the Southern Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. He will graduate from Masaryk University in the Czech Republic this year after completing his coursework and defending his bachelor’s thesis. Kopulety is an accomplished pianist, a Kendo swordsman, and practices with the Czech National Team. He also teaches English to professionals and is an artist who designs patches for events and celebrations.
Professor Emerita Judy McEnany met Kopulety while teaching at Masaryk University during
the 2018-2019 school year. Kopulety requested her help in public speaking and the
two worked on his skills over the academic year. McEnany suggested that he come to
the United States while vacationing over the summer and arranged for the presentation
as a way for him to test out his skills. This is Kopulety’s first trip to the United
States.
Attendees of the lecture are welcome to bring a lunch.
The lecture will take place in room 302 of the Library on the university campus, 1500 University Drive.
