MSUB students to perform spring music recitals
MSUB Music Department presents three student performances

MSU BILLINGS NEWS—Three student recitals from the Montana State University Billings Music Department are slated for early April in Cisel Recital Hall.
Asher Sotelo, music education and performance major, presents his senior guitar recital on Thursday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m.
Raegan Bunting, music education and performance major, will present her senior flute recital on Tuesday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m.
Margaret Schwarz, music performance and music education major, will perform her junior voice recital on Wednesday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m.
All performances will be held in Cisel Recital Hall on the MSUB university campus.
Sotelo is very active in the MSUB Music Department as he is part of the Symphonic Band, Jazz Combo II, Jackets Only a Capella, and is a founding member of the MSUB Guitar Ensemble. He is a student of Elizabeth Adcock and will perform pieces by Ferdinand Carulli, J.S. Bach, Mir Ali, Fernando Sor, Andrew York, Leo Brouwer, and more.
Bunting attended school in Billings and graduated from Skyview High School. She is in her second year of study with Dr. Scott Jeppesen, and in the past studied for three years with Dr. Gary Behm. She is an active performer with the MSU Billings music department, having performed in the Chamber and University Choirs, the Symphonic Band, and the Jazz Ensemble. She has served as the student conductor of the MSUB Pep Band. Bunting advocates for music education as a member of MSUB Nafme-C chapter. She performed with the Rimrock Opera for the opera Nosferatu.
Tim Schoessler will accompany Bunting on piano, alongside guest flutists Haylee Koon and Dr. Scott Jeppesen. Bunting and fellow musicians will play a diverse selection of music, ranging from the Baroque era to the Modern era.
Soprano Margaret Schwarz, daughter of Dan and Marcey Schwarz, graduated from Billings Senior High School. She is a vocal student of Douglas Nagel and has been involved in music-related activities since before kindergarten. In Sept. 2017, Schwarz founded and served as President of Jackets Only a Capella vocal ensemble and club in the music department. Currently, she is a vocalist for The Soul Funk Collective and will graduate in the spring of 2020. Her program will consist of works by Rodger Quilter, Francisco Asenjo Barbieri, Franz Schubert, Steven Schwartz, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and more.
All performances are free of charge, open to the public, and take place in Cisel Recital Hall on the university campus of MSU Billings.
