Finalists Announced for MSU Billings’ College of Business Dean

MSU BILLINGS NEWS—The search committee for the Dean of the College of Business (COB) at Montana State University Billings has announced the final candidates for the position. They include Rasoul Rezvanian, Priscilla Romkema, and Herb Snyder.
The candidates will meet with MSU Billings students, faculty, and staff. Each candidate will present on the topic, “What is your vision for the College of Business at MSU Billings?” during an open forum.
The forums will be held at 4 p.m. on the university campus in the Library room 148, on the below days. These sessions are open to the public. The forum allows time for attendees to ask questions and provide valuable feedback to the search committee.
- Monday, January 28 – Rasoul Rezvanian
- Tuesday, January 29 – Priscilla Romkema
- Monday, February 4 – Herb Snyder
Rasoul Rezvanian is currently Associate Dean of the School of Business at Ithaca College. Prior to this position, Rezvanian was Chair, Department of Accounting, Business Law and Finance at the College of Business and Management at Northeastern Illinois University. Rezvanian holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy in Economics/Finance from Southern Illinois University, a master’s degree of Science in Accounting from Roosevelt University, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tehran, Iran.
Priscilla Romkema is currently the President of Regional Health Foundation. Prior to this position, Romkema was Dean of the College of Business and Natural Sciences, Black Hills State University. Romkema holds a Ph.D. in Education and a master’s degree in Business Education from the University of Wyoming, and a bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music from Black Hills State College.
Herb Snyder is currently the Chair of Accounting, Finance, and Information Systems (AFIS) Department, North Dakota State University (NDSU). Prior to this position, Snyder was the Master of Accountancy Program Director for AFIS at NDSU. Snyder has a Ph.D. in Information Science from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Management from Babson College.
The search committee for MSU Billings’ COB Dean is comprised of Heather Thompson-Bahm, Cindy Bell, Michael Campbell, Mary Susan Fishbaugh, Catherine Grott, Sarah Keller, Greg McDonald, Rakesh Sah, Anna Talafuse, and Susan Balter-Reitz (chair).
The College of Business is currently led by Ed Garding, a former First Interstate BancSystems President and CEO. MSU Billings Chancellor Dan Edelman appointed Garding as the Interim Dean in June 2018. With the university’s draft of the new strategic plan well underway, Chancellor Edelman and Provost Melinda Arnold are solidifying leadership positions within the colleges. The new City College Dean Vicki Trier joined MSUB earlier this month. The new COB Dean should be in place no later than July 1, 2019.
