Open forum schedule for MSU Billings Provost Search Candidates

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES —The MSU Billings Provost/Academic Vice Chancellor Search Committee invites the community to interact with candidates as they visit campus. On the below days, open forums will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Library 148. These sessions are open to the public.
- Friday, September 14 – Dr. Melinda Arnold
- Monday, September 17 – Dr. Lance Askildson
Candidates will make presentations on the topic “Rightsizing Academic Programs to align with Enrollment Shifts at Regional Comprehensive Universities.”The schedule includes time for attendees to ask questions as well as a method to provide feedback to the search committee.
Dr. Melinda Arnold has served as the Interim Associate Provost at the University of North Texas (UNT) in Dallas since 2016, as well as the Executive Director at Caruth Police Institute since 2014. Arnold holds both a Ph.D. and a master’s in criminal justice from Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey. Prior to working for UNT in Dallas, Arnold served as Associate Dean of the College of Humanities at Texas A&M University from 2012 to 2014.
Dr. Lance Askildson is currently the Vice Provost and Chief International Officer at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, a post he has held since 2013. Askildson holds a doctorate in second language acquisition from the University of Arizona in Tucson. Prior to working for Kennesaw State University, Askildson was assistant provost at the University of Notre Dame from 2010 to 2013.
The search committee for Provost/Academic Vice Chancellor is comprised of Dr. John Dorr, Dr. Mary Susan Fishbaugh, Doug Nagel, Jim Barron, Trudy Collins, Susan Balter-Reitz, Sheri Steiner, Connie Nelson, Halle Keltner, and Shannon Lampe Wilcox as chair.
