MSU BILLINGS FOUNDATION NEWS—MSU Billings hosts Jacket Giving Day on Tuesday, Oct. 9. This one-day online fundraiser benefits 17 campus projects and programs and comes on the heels of a successful Jacket Homecoming weekend, the first in decades at the institution.
From student success and campus activities to international studies, the annual powwow and a new recording studio, the Yellowjackets are rallying support for deserving causes all over campus. With a goal of 500 donors in 24 hours, contributions to Jacket Giving Day enhance these projects and programs which support the students of MSU Billings.
Visit jacketgivingday.msubillings.edu beginning at midnight on Oct. 9 to make a gift to the project or program of your choice. Then help spread the word on social media using #JacketGivingDay and downloadable graphics on the site. A headquarters will be set up from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Student Union Building at 1500 University Drive, and the public is invited for a free barbecue from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch will also be served at the City College Tech Building, located at 3803 Central Ave.
The theme for Jacket Giving Day is “Every student matters. Every gift counts.” Donation amounts begin at only $1, and some participating projects and programs are offering incentives for donors, like thank you letters and language lessons from students. A variety of challenges have increased the competition for new donors and social media participation.
Jacket Giving Day is the first event of the MSU Billings Foundation’s Annual Drive campaign. Campaign funds have historically supported faculty and staff training, department equipment needs, student art shows, and numerous other initiatives.
