MSU Billings presents 2018 Juried Student Exhibition
Showcasing the artistic talents of MSUB students April 5 through May 3

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Montana State University Billings Department of Art’s 2018 Juried Student Exhibition opens Thursday, April 5 and remains on display through May 3. A catered artist reception and awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 19 from 5-7 p.m. This year’s guest juror, Maggy Rozycki Hiltner, will announce cash awards for selected artworks at 6 p.m. Announcements of MSUB Department of Art annual scholarship winners will follow.
The reception and ceremony are catered, free, and open to the public.
Submissions were received in response to an exhibition call extended earlier this year to all students currently enrolled at MSUB and City College. The 34 artworks selected for exhibition testify to rich talents and diverse visions of MSUB students working across a range of media. The exhibiting artists are: Kari Adams, Danielle Alden, John Allenbaugh, Samantha Arave, Emma Berry, Lindsey Carrell, Gabrielle Coombes, Taylor Evans, Isiah Girard, Hannah Harsha, Ben Havens, Zachary Hinkle, Shayleen Klein, Brenna Lacy, Rebecca Lee, Liz May, Jered Musso, Casey O’Malley, Terri Porta, Angel Shandy, Breanna Shermer, Marsha Stewart, Rilie Stovall, Morgan Syring, Morgan Trowbridge.
The exhibition is held in conjunction with MSUB's Research & Creativity Conference, which will be held on Friday, April 20. For more information about the conference visit: www.msubillings.edu/research.
This year’s juror, Red Lodge artist Maggy Rozycki Hiltner, has been an Artist-In-Residence at Yellowstone Art Museum and received a Montana Arts Council Artist's Innovation Award in 2015. Her work has been included in numerous national and international exhibitions in museums and galleries, and has been published in the US and abroad.

The Northcutt Steele Gallery is located on the first floor of the Liberal Arts Building on MSUB campus and is open Monday–Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and by appointment.
