MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Montana State University Billings student, Halle Keltner, will be the keynote speaker for the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Billings Branch luncheon on March 17 at 12 p.m. The program will be held in MSU Billings Student Union Building, Banquet Rooms A and B.
Join AAUW Billings Branch members and guests to listen to this year’s participant for the AAUW National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) discuss, “Promoting Young Women Leaders.” Keltner was this year’s chosen participant.
“Public service and community involvement are two of my greatest passions,” Keltner said.
Keltner is majoring in Political Science and hopes to continue on a path in politics. She currently serves as a senator for the Associated Students of MSU Billings, is a member of their Financial Board, and is a member of the MSUB Orientation Peer Leader team. This spring, the university recognized her drive to develop skills in leadership when she was nominated for the Emerging Student Leader award.
The American Association of University Women (AAUW)’s mission is to advance equality for women and girls. Founded on November 28, 1881, by 17 female college graduates, AAUW has developed a rich tradition of leadership, scholarship, advocacy, and action. AAUW has shaped the social, political, and economic scene for women, including the fight for pay equality; a woman’s right to vote; and legislation that protects women at home, in schools, and in the workplace. Today, AAUW numbers more than 100,000 members, 1,300 branches, and 500 college and university partners.
This event is open to the public. Please R.S.V.P. to Nancy Downing at downing@rocky.edu or 406-652-5474, by Tuesday, March 13, to reserve a seat.
