MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Montana State University Billings will host the 2018 Montana International Educators Conference (MIEC), June 14-15, 2018. This annual meeting is the main venue for international educators working at public and private institutions with interests in international education.
A group of international educators (such as study abroad, international recruiting, admissions and immigration professionals) from a variety of institutions, including private high schools with interest in this topic, have met yearly in the month of June for the last five years to discuss areas of common interest and share best practices in the field. “Through these meetings, professionals in attendance have created a network with whom we have remained in contact, and supported, especially during the times of transition in Bozeman and Missoula” shared Dr. Paul Foster, Director of International Studies and coordinator of the MSUB event.
MIEC is open to representatives from secondary schools, community colleges, and universities, as well local, state, and federal government and non-governmental organizations.
Foster has reached out to a number of state and federal institutions to send representatives to meet with attendees, lead professional development sessions, and participate in the conference. Those invited as presenters and participants to the conference include the US Department of State, Department of Homeland Security, FBI, ICE, and the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.
A meeting of the Study Montana group will also be held during this conference.
