MSUB Art Department displays Juried Student Exhibition
Artwork of current MSUB students on display in the Northcutt Steele Gallery April 6 through May 4. Awards ceremony 5-7 p.m., April 20. Public invited.

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Montana State University Billings Department of Art’s 2017 Juried Student Exhibition opens on Thursday, April 6 and remains on view through May 4.
A catered artist reception and awards ceremony will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., April 20 at the Northcutt Steele Gallery on the University campus.
This year’s guest juror, Dean Adams, will announce cash awards for selected artworks at 6 p.m. Announcements of MSUB’s Department of Art’s annual scholarship winners will follow.
The catered reception and ceremony is free and open to the public.
Submissions were received in response to an exhibition call extended earlier this year to all students currently enrolled at MSUB.
The 30 artworks selected for exhibition testify to rich talents and diverse visions of MSUB students working across a range of media.
The exhibiting artists are: Tabetha Rindahl, Zachary Hinkle, Ellen Kuntz, Stephanie Slavin, Lauren Baum, Madalyn Johnson, Rebecca Lee, Meliah Bell, Laura Meintjes, Shayla Fiscus, Brenna Lacy, Katelynn Burg, Fred Muller, Hannah Harsha, Vince Long, Marsha Stewart, Glenn Kamamura, Elizabeth May, Kalyssa Youde, John Allenbaugh, Michael Jones, Lindsey Carrell, Michelle Williams, Meagan Milton, Angel Shandy, Amy Mason, Morgan Syring, and Dacia Racine.
Guest Juror Adams received his MA and MFA from University of Iowa.
He is currently Foundations Coordinator, teaches ceramics at the School of Art at MSU. Adams has exhibited nationally and internationally. He has participated in many artists’ residencies, including The Archie Bray Foundation, The Banff Centre, and Watershed Center for Ceramics. Adams is also Vice-President of Programming for Integrative Teaching International, and a member of Foundations in Art: Theory and Education (FATE).
The Northcutt Steele Gallery is located on the first floor of the Liberal Arts on the Montana State University Billings campus. The gallery is open Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, and by appointment. For more information, please visit www.facebook.com/northcuttsteelegallery.
