Trio of music recitals announced by MSUB

Concerts take place at 3p.m., 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., April 8, in the Cisel Recital Hall on the University Campus. All three are free and open to the public.

Mady
MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Mady Johnson will be presenting her senior clarinet recital at 3 p.m., April 8, at Cisel Recital Hall on the campus of Montana State University Billings.

 

Mady is a 2013 graduate of Shepherd High School in Shepherd, Montana. She is working toward a Bachelor of Arts, Music Performance Option, with a minor in Art.

 

Mady is highly involved in the music community of Billings. She has been involved in the MSUB Symphonic Band, pep band, jazz ensemble, the Billings Community Band, the Al Beedo Shrine Dance Band, Magic City Big Band, Billings Studio Theater, and the Billings Symphony Orchestra.

 

Mady recently played in the pit orchestra of BST’s musical production of “Sugar.”

 

Her program will feature compositions by Mendelssohn, Bernstein, Arnold, and Muczynski. Mady is a student of Dr. Gary Behm.

 

Belle Horman, horn, will be presenting her junior recital at 5 p.m., April 8, in the Cisel Recital Hall.

 

Belle
Belle is a 2012 graduate of Billings Senior High School. She is majoring in both Music Education and Music Performance at MSUB.

 

Belle performs in the MSUB Symphonic and Pep bands and is also a member of the Billings Community Band, the High Plains Brass Quintet, and her ensemble Triohhhh.

 

She is a student of Mark Fenderson.

 

The final performance that evening will be by Josh Zeeck.

 

Josh will perform his senior recital at 7:30 p.m., in the Cisel Recital Hall.

 

Josh grew up in Billings, Montana and graduated from Billings Senior High school in 2012.

He is studying Musical Performance and plans to use his degree to begin composing music. He is studying under John Roberts for both euphonium and trombone.

 

Josh currently plays trombone in the MSU Billings Pep Band, as well as the Symphonic Band and Jazz Band.

 

Guest artists in Josh’s recital will include Danielle Branson and John Roberts, and Josh’s accompanist is Tim Schoessler. The pieces being performed will include selections by Guilmant, Handel, Reiche, Telemann, Blazhevich, Rollins and Sanders.

 

All three concerts are free and open to the public.
