911 Memorial and Healing Field at City College
MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Since the dedication of Montana’s 9/11 Memorial on September 11, 2011 the monument has been visited by thousands of people. The memorial stands as testament to Montana’s commitment to remember, reflect, educate and dedicate.

This Sunday, on the 15th anniversary of 9/11, MSU Billings will host its annual remembrance ceremony. The ceremony will commence at 2 p.m. at Montana’s 9/11 Memorial on the City College campus.

As part of this year’s ceremony, the Billings Breakfast Exchange Club will erect the Healing Field near the memorial.  The Healing Field honors heroes, creates awareness, unites communities and raises money for local charities all at the same time.

The ceremony is free and open to the public. Men and women of our armed services, veterans, National Guard, first-responders and service personnel are invited to join in the remembrance.

Speakers for this year’s ceremony include Jonny Day, born on September 11, 2001; and Brigadier General Jeff Ireland, Chief of the Joint Staff for the Montana National Guard.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to watch the ceremony.

If you have questions regarding the remembrance ceremony please contact University Relations at 657-2266. More information about Montana’s 9/11 Memorial can be found at www.msubillings.edu/911memorial
