MSUB Music Department presents senior recitals

Soprano Judith Margaret Lacy will perform her Senior Recital on Saturday, November 5, at 3:00pm followed by Ivy Chesterman’s violin recital at 7:30pm. Both performances are free and open to the public.

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — The Montana State University Billings Music Department presents a pair of senior recitals taking place on Saturday, November 5 by music education majors Judith Margaret Lacy and Ivy Devine Chesterfield.

Soprano Lacy will perform her Senior Recital at 3:00 p.m. Chesterman’s violin recital takes place at 7:30p.m.

Lacy came to Montana from California where she graduated from Adolfo Camarillo High School.

She has performed in numerous choirs, ensembles, and churches, as well as with the Billings Symphony Orchestra & Chorale. Lacy sang with MSU Billings Chamber Singers at Alberta Bair Theatre in Orff’s Carmina Burana. She currently teaches private voice lessons and has also led music in nursing homes.

Lacy will be performing pieces by Debussy, Handel, and Faure, to name a few.

The recital is free of charge and open to the public.

Chesterman is a Billings native and graduate of Billings Skyview High School.

While Chesterman has been involved in the music program at MSUB, she has performed in the Jazz Ensemble, University Chorus, Pep Band, and solo performances.

Ivy also stays active in the community as a private instructor, an extra violist in the Billings Youth Orchestra, and a local performer within the Billings area night scene.

Ivy’s Senior Recital will include a Telemann sonata and suite of folk songs. Pianist Tim Schoessler will accompany the recital at the keyboard and soprano Margaret Schwarz will add vocals.

Both recitals will be in the Cisel Recital Hall on the University campus and are free and open to the public.
