Dr. Craig Wilson has released a comprehensive two-volume set of the Montana Poll
MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Earlier this month, storied MSUB political science professor Dr. Craig Wilson released a compilation of the Montana Poll.
The poll spans four decades, from 1989 through 2015. With 28 total survey reports amassing more than 700 pages, this is the most complete database of Montana public opinion in the last quarter century.
Wilson, in conjunction with the MSU Billings library, has made the two-volume set available to the public via the library’s website. A bound copyis also available in the library and is available for purchase through Wilson.
“This is a piece of Montana history and MSU Billings history that we are proud to display,” said MSU Billings Library Director Brent Roberts. “The Montana Poll offers an unparalleled glimpse at Montana’s contemporary political landscape.”
Wilson is probably best known to the masses for his media appearances during Montana’s political season following the release of the Montana poll, however, he wants to make it known that he was not alone in this endeavor.
Over the past 26 years Wilson has worked alongside seven co-directors and more than one hundred student volunteers.
“This is more than a poll,” commented Wilson. “This has been a teaching and learning experience for countless students at MSU Billings.”
Wilson began his career at Eastern Montana College in 1980 and became an Emeritus Faculty member in 2013.
