Music student Samantha Hamburg will perform her senior flute recital on Sunday, April 26, at 3 p.m., in Cisel Recital Hall.

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Montana State University Billings music student Samantha Hamburg will perform her senior flute recital April 26, at 3 p.m., in Cisel Recital Hall on the university campus. The recital is free and open to the public.

 

A music performance major, Hamburg is active in the Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble and Small Jazz Combo. She has performed in the MSU Billings Jazz Festival and the Northwest Jazz Festival, as well as several area venues.

Hamburg is a student of professor Gary Behm. Her recital will include works by Back, Morlacchi, Saint-Saens and Prokovief. She will be accompanied by pianist Delores Vigesaa and Behm on clarinet.

She first studied flute under Betty Cumming at Savage High School in Sidney. Before graduating in 2009, Hamburg attended several summer music festivals, including the International Music Camp, where she was named the “Most Outstanding Female Musician.”

Hamburg attended Dawson Community College as a music technology major for one year before transferring to MSU Billings.
