MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — The MSU Billings Department of Music presents a Faculty Recital on Thursday, March 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Cisel Recital Hall on the MSU Billings four-year campus. Admission is free and open to the public.
The recital will feature Mark Fenderson on trumpet and John Roberts on trombone. Pianist Lee Hancock will accompany them.
The program will contain a diverse selection of music, including works from the 17th and 21st centuries. Their arrangements also include international flavor, with selections from Italy, Germany, France, Brazil and Argentina.
In addition to works written specifically for trumpet, trombone or piano, transcriptions of music from orchestral and Latin jazz sources will be highlighted. Among composers featured are Viviani, Brahms, Faure, Ravel, Blacher, Piazzola and DaSilva.
