MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Take a walk on the wild side with Montana State University Billings with a Day at ZooMontana on March 29.
The event is free and open to the public and will feature interactive activities and booths for zoo-goers, including opportunities to get up-close and personal with some of the zoo’s furry and feathered inhabitants and learn more about them from their keepers.
The event, sponsored by MSUB, Alumni Relations, the Student Activities Board and Associated Students, is designed as a community appreciation day as well as an educational experience.
“This is an opportunity for MSU Billings to show the Billings and surrounding communities how much their support means to us,” Director of Alumni Relations Sarah Brockel said. “We’ll have amazing exhibits and fun activities for all ages.”
Faculty, staff, students and alumni will host booths with various activities including a robotics display presented by Extended Campus, a build your own bookmark station with the MSUB Library and a prize wheel sponsored by Alumni Relations.
Zoo-goers who complete a passport activity—which entails collecting stamps at each of the booths—will be entered into a drawing for a prize package that includes an Apple IPad Mini.
Check out the beaver brothers Huck and Finn and come face-to-face with Montana’s kings of the wilderness, grizzly bears Bruno and Ozzy, while learning about MSUB degree programs, summer campus camps and events, swim lessons, library services and much more.
The MSU Billings Day at the Zoo runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hotdogs and hamburgers will be available for purchase.
ZooMontana is located at 2100 S. Shiloh Rd., just off the Zoo Drive Exit of Interstate 90.
