The show, “Prescription for Failure,” will be on display in the Student Gallery on the main floor of the Liberal Arts Building from April 14 through April 30.

The series, Yerger said, expresses her experiences and observations from working in pharmacies for the past seven years. She explores issues that people face on a day-to-day basis with prescription medications as well as problems that we face as a community and a nation. Yerger takes her inspiration from processes and experimentation with a variety of mediums from clay to photography.

A Montana native, Yerger will graduate from MSU Billings with a bachelor’s degree in art education. For the last two years she has been involved with both of MSU Billings art clubs. She has also been active in the Art Students’ League and Potters’ Guild, both of which she serves as the co-president, organizing fundraisers and workshops. She also student teaches at Billings Senior High School.

Her love for learning comes from her parents who always involved their children in their own explorations of knowledge. Growing up she remembers when the laundry room would transform into a darkroom and using Photoshop to repair old torn up photos. Those investigative processes were the best part about learning something new. Yerger’s love for learning is something she hopes to pass on to her future students. The Student Gallery is open during regular semester hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, contact the art department at 657-2324.
