In conjunction with the 2014 Juried Student Exhibition, MSUB Alumna and Billings artist Jane
Waggoner Deschner will discuss the evolution of her work with found photographs on Thursday, April 10, at 5 p.m. in Library Room 148.
Deschner’s artwork is currently on view in the Bent Un/Conscious: A Survey of Regional Surrealism exhibition at Yellowstone Art Museum and she has a solo exhibition opening at Catherine
Louisa Gallery in downtown Billings on April 24. In addition to being an artist, Deschner
works as an exhibition installer, graphic designer, photographer, instructor and picture
framer.
Regarding her work with found photographs, Deschner remarks: “When I interact with
a photograph, I connect us by teasing out a common humanity not confined by time,
place or circumstance. I explore our shared humanity to better understand my own.”
