MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — MSUB Potters’ Guild and the 2012-2013 Red Lodge Clay Center Residents will be showcasing their work during the Billings Downtown Artwalk on Friday, May 3. The exhibition can be viewed from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. at del Alma Gallery and Studio, 2507 Montana Ave.
This exhibition showcases residents Alexis Gregg, Tanner Coleman, Karin Solberg, Megan Mitchell, and Brittany Helms; along with works created by Potters’ Guild. The residents were able to perform a two-day workshop in the beginning of April, demonstrating their techniques to the Guild. The pieces in the show reflect the work created during the workshop.
Each year, the Red Lodge Clay Center accepts four resident artists whom are committed individuals in transition from post baccalaureate studies to graduate school, as well as those pursuing the development of professional artistic careers. Accepted residents are provided with studio space, housing, utilities, and a monthly stipend in exchange for twenty hours of work per week at the Clay Center.
Potters’ Guild is a student and community organization at MSU Billings. They remain active in the community and on campus. Two sales a semester raise money to attend the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA), host visiting artists, and buy studio equipment.
