MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — The Art Students’ League (ASL) of Montana State University Billings will hold an art auction at the Billings Depot on Friday, January 31. A silent auction will commence at 5:30 p.m. followed by a live auction at 7:00 p.m.
The live auction will feature donated pieces from renowned artists Carol Spielman and Gordon McConnell. McConnell’s piece, Stageline, left, will be on display during the auction. The silent auction will showcase works created by MSUB students. The event will include complimentary hors d'oeuvres, desserts, drinks and live entertainment performed by the MSU Billings music department and local musicians.
Tickets are $50 in advance, or $60 at the door and can be purchased online at www.msubartstudentleague.com or by calling 406-657-2986.
Proceeds from the art auction will support the Art Students’ League in purchasing new art equipment, hosting visiting artist workshops and providing scholarships for art students. The club is a non-profit organization with a mission to expand the education of students in and beyond the realm of the classroom. The ASL members focus on encouraging a new generation of artists to set roots in the growing local art community.
