MSU Billings vocalist to present senior recital Oct. 7

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Laurel native and Montana State University Billings vocal student Mary Elizabeth Ryan will perform her senior recital on Friday, Oct. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in Cisel Recital Hall at MSU Billings.
The performance is free and open to the public.
Joining Ryan will be MSU Billings graduate Brianne Rebekah Roney and pianist Sandi Rabas. Ryan will be singing selections by Bellini, Wagner, Poulenc, Menotti, Schubert, Britten, Donaudy and Chausson.
Ryan studies voice with Professor Douglas Nagel at MSU Billings, where she also sings in the vocal ensembles. She also plays the clarinet and saxophone in the MSU Billings Jazz Ensemble and Symphonic Band.
Ryan performed with the Rimrock Opera Co., in “Riders to the Sea,” “Carmen” and “The Merry Widow.” She has also performed musical theater with Billings Studio Theater, where she played Tracy Turnblad, in “Hairspray: the Musical.” She will be singing the role of the Countess Ceprano in Rimrock Opera’s presentation of “Rigoletto” on Oct. 8-9.
