MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — In the early 21st century, trust is the new currency of the workplace and leaders can use that currency to boost their business and careers.

 

That will be the focus of a workshop next week co-sponsored by Montana State University Billings and presented by noted author, speaker, radio host and former vice president of QVC.

 

“The Emerging Era: Uncommon-Practice Leadership and the Workplace Currency” will be presented by Nan S. Russell on Tuesday, March 15 at the MSU Billings Downtown campus, 214 N. Broadway, from 1-4 p.m. The workshop fee is $49 and includes a copy of Russell’s new book “Hitting Your Stride.”

 

Co-sponsored by MSU Billings, MasterLube and the Society for Human Resource Management, the workshop will focus on new methods of leadership for the 21st century. Designed for business and public sector leader of all levels, the workshop will help people find uncommonly displayed behaviors that create positive influence, enhance results and initiate natural followership. At the same time, leaders can discover common mistakes made that erode results, trust and career growth.

 

Russell spent over 20 years in management holding executive positions in human resources, marketing, communication, and line management. She is a former vice president of QVC and is now a nationally known speaker and author.

 

""In 2002, she left the corporate world to pursue a life-dream to work and write from the mountains of northwestern Montana.  Her second book, “Hitting Your Stride: Your Work, Your Way,” was released in January 2008 by Capital Books, and won a 2009 Axiom Business Book Award.
