Red Lodge Clay Center artists set workshops, exhibit at MSU Billings

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — The Department of Art and the Northcutt Steele Gallery at Montana State University Billings will feature resident artists Brett Kern, Jonathan Fitz, Allen Chen and Daniel Garretson from the Red Lodge Clay Center for some workshops and an exhibit.
The workshops are set for Tuesday, Feb. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon and on Thursday, Feb. 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the MSU Billings Art Annex.
The artists will be featured in a show opening Friday, Feb. 18 at Northcutt Steele Gallery on the main floor of the MSU Billings Liberal Arts Building. An artists’ discussions is schedule for 4 p.m. in Room 205 of the Liberal Arts Building followed by a public reception from 5-7 p.m. at the gallery.
The Northcutt Steele Gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday when college classes are in session. Exhibits are open to the public without charge.
The Red Lodge Clay Center works to “provide a place for professionally minded ceramic artists to create new work.” The center features a variety of artists that work in ceramics and have distinct styles and content. Since its opening, the Red Lodge Clay Center has been a key resource for students studying in the MSU Billings ceramics programs.
