Wyoming student presents junior recital on April 8

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Branden Martinez, a Montana State University Billings music major, will present his junior recital on Friday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Cisel Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
A native of Worland, Wyo., the 23-year-old was an active participant in choir throughout his school career making it to All-State Chorus and All-Northwest Men’s Chorus his senior year of high school. Upon graduation, he attended Casper College where he studied voice with Jean Tichenor, and participated in I Cantori, Men’s Chorus, Triple C Singers, and Colligate Chorus.
He transferred to MSU Billings this year to finish his bachelor’s degree in Music Performance and Music Education. Martinez studies with MSU Billings Assistant Professor Doug Nagel. He sings with University Chorus and the Select Chorus Group for MSU Billings and competes with the MSU Billings track and field team and in the pole vault event.
Upon graduation, Martinez hopes to get a job teaching children and youth the appreciation of music.
During his recital, he will be performing selections by Hugo Wolf, Antonio Caldara, Vincent D’Indy, R. Vaughan Williams, and more.
