MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Codie Wahrman, a Montana State University Billings senior from Townsend, will be performing his senior recital on Saturday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Cisel Recital Hall.
The concert, which is free and open the public, will include works by by Handel, Schumann, Bozza, and Gordan Jacob.
Wahrman graduated from Broadwater County High School in Townsend in 2005, and is completing his requirements for a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. Wahrman and music go hand-in-hand at MSU Billings. When he’s not playing it, he’s studying it. And when he wasn’t helping others play it better this past year, he was immersed in it as a worker.
His dedication not only to his major but his commitment to his job at MSU Billings earned him the honor of being selected as local and statewide Student Employee of the Year in 2009.
The Student Employee of the Year is an award program coordinated by the Western Association of Student Employment Administrators (WASEA) and the National Student Employment Association (NSEA). MSU Billings is a member of both organizations and the award honors work done by student employees and to encourage students to take pride in their contribution to organizations for which they work.
Wahrman has participated in various ensembles such as Symphonic Band, Jazz Band and Pep Band. He was a Resident Assistant in for a year and has been a Student Union Building Manager for the last two years.
During this spring semester, he has been student teaching at Billings Central Catholic Schools under the supervision of Glenda Newman. He continues to be a student of Dr. Gary Behm and notes the support of his family and friends during his busy college career.
