MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — College students who want an advantage in study skills or understanding university resources for the spring semester can get a boost with a free seminar in January.

Student Opportunity Services/TRIO at Montana State University Billings has set a “Return to Learn” seminar for Jan. 6-7, 2011. “Return to Learn” is a free program for any student, but is especially designed for students who have been out of school for a while and who are interested in either entering or returning to college. Presentations and activities focus on making the transition to college pleasant, meaningful, and less stressful.

Prospective students have the opportunity to learn about financial aid, study skills, college resources, career options, and more. “Return to Learn” is open to everyone. Adult learners, transfer students and students with disabilities will find this seminar extremely helpful and enjoyable.

“Return to Learn” will be held in the MSU Billings College of Education building, Room 330, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Jan. 6 and Jan. 7. Although pre-registration is not necessary, it is appreciated.

Call Student Opportunity Services/TRIO at 657-2162 for more information about “Return to Learn.”

There is still time to apply and register for Spring Semester at MSU Billings. Classes start on Jan. 12, 2011. For more information on the registration process or to apply, call 657-2888.

SOS/TRiO is funded through the U.S. Department of Education annually at $314,467. The program serves about 250 students each year.
