MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Discussion of the developments in the auto industry and the debut of the new Ford Taurus will be featured at the Montana State University Billings College of Business next week when Ford executive pays a visit to the college.
Peter Sherry, associate general counsel for Ford, will be speaking to students, faculty and others at the university on Monday, Sept. 14 at McDonald Hall on the university’s main campus, 1500 University Drive. Two presentations — open to the public — will be held from 9:45-10:30 a.m. and from 10:30-11:15 a.m. in Room 355.
Sherry and others are in Billings promoting the 2010 Ford Taurus, said Dr. Gary Young, dean of the College of Business, who said he wanted to use the visit as an opportunity for students to become more acquainted with an important American industry.
“Given the state of the automobile industry and the global market, we are very fortunate to have and executive at this level to speak to our business students and university and community leaders,” Young said.
Sherry, a third-generation Ford employee, is responsible for all non-litigation related legal matters, except intellectual property and tax issues. In addition, he serves as secretary to the Board of Directors. He organizes board and shareholder meetings as well as other legal matters related to operating a publicly-traded company. He also spent four years in Ford of Europe’s legal office.
Sherry and others with Ford will have the new Taurus on display at the university near the University Police and Parking office across Poly Drive from the College of Business.
The MSU Billings College of Business offers academic programs in accounting, general business, finance, marketing, management and information systems, including a business administration degree that is offered completely online.
