MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Montana State University Billings received notice recently that its master’s-level program in athletic training education has cleared review by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
Notice was received this spring by the MSU Billings College of Allied Health Professions, where the Master’s in Athletic Training program is housed. The next required comprehensive review for program accreditation will be during the 2010-11 academic year.
The Master’s of Science in Athletic Training at MSU Billings is one of only 19 entry-level master’s programs in the United States to be accredited by CAATE and only one in Montana. The two-year graduate program prepares students for the Board of Certification exam based on curriculum centered on cognitive and psychomotor learning experiences.
Students prepare for careers as athletic trainers at:
• High schools
• Colleges and universities
• Professional sports teams
• Corporate/industrial offi ces
• Outpatient clinics
• Hospital clinics
