Student-led production on stage Dec. 9-13 at Petro Theatre
MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — The Montana State University Billings theatre department presents its annual fall show, “Love at First Sip,” a drama about the unrelenting pursuit of fame and fortune, next week on the MSU Billings main campus.
The show takes the stage Dec. 9-13 at Petro Theatre. The curtain rises at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $10 for general admission at the door, but calling ahead for reserved seating is recommended. The production is sponsored in part by the Drama Committee of the Associated Students of Montana State University Billings.
“Love at First Sip” is completely written, directed and acted by MSU Billings students. It tells the story of an aspiring psychiatrist who, without proper credentials, is willing to stop at nothing to get fame and fortune in a trade and business in which she does not belong. To do this, she invites married couples to a three-day mountain retreat to help save their marriage. The catch is that her methods aren’t what other psychiatrists would describe as “normal.”
The play is suitable for people with all interests and does contain some mild sexuality, mild language and adult situations.
“Love at First Sip” was written by Erik Rasmussen and Kyle Rasmussen and edited by Kyle Rasmussen and Zachariah Carleton. It is directed by Carleton. The cast includes local actors Cydney Mann, Bobbi Kay Kupfner, Erik Rasmussen, Trent Steinbrink and Ryan Lofgren. Debut performances will be made by Kayla Eastwood, Jon Erwin, Michele Haslid and Kyle Rasmussen.
