Percussion student presents senior recital on Friday

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Percussionist Chad McKinsey, a Montana State University Billings student, will perform his Senior Recital at Cisel Hall on the MSU Billings campus on Friday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. The recital is free and the public is invited to attend.
A senior from Huntley Project pursuing degrees in music performance and music education, McKinsey will be performing pieces by Elliot Carter, Mark Ford, Minoru Miki, Anthony Cirone and others. He has had the opportunity to perform around the community with various groups and ensembles including the MSU Billings Percussion Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble and Concert Choir. He also performed with the Billings Symphony Orchestra, Billings Studio Theater, Venture Theater, his Jazz Combo Elev. 3123, Bellissimo and other local musicians.
McKinsey has recorded with acts such as The Suicide Denial, and Andrew Ryan and was featured in the April 2009 edition of DRUM! Magazine, in the New Blood section, where up and coming artists are recognized.
He is a student of Matt Devitt and Luke Kestner.
