College of Technology, diesel industry showcase career potential at Career Information Night Nov. 10

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Area heavy equipment and diesel technology companies will showcase job opportunities at a special Montana State University Billings College of Technology diesel technology career information night.
Anyone interested in learning about good-paying jobs as a diesel technician and career potential can find out more during this special evening of presentations and demonstrations on Monday, Nov. 10 at 5:30 p.m. at Yellowstone County Implement, 5121 Midland Road. The event is free and open to the public. Pizza and pop will be served.
According to industry and education officials, diesel technicians remain in high demand in Montana and earn high wages. Employment opportunities include jobs in construction, agriculture and with over-the-road equipment dealerships.
Parents and prospective students are invited to attend to learn about the vast array of opportunities for education and employment in the Billings area. Students will learn how to work on some of the most technologically advanced machines in the marketplace.
Those interested in a diesel technician career can attend the informational evening and find out about degree and certificate opportunities at the MSU Billings College of Technology. They can also:
- Hear from employers about diesel technology and good-paying careers working with high-tech agricultural, construction or over-the-road trucks.
- Visit with diesel technology professionals who are already in the workforce.
- Tour the Yellowstone County Implement shop.
- View demonstrations of new diesel equipment.
- Visit with MSU Billings diesel technology instructors.
The event sponsors include Tri-State Truck and Equipment Inc., Western Plains Machinery,
Torgerson’s, Yellowstone County Implement, the Montana Equipment Dealer’s Association,
Rocky Mountain Western Star Trucks, Interstate Power Systems, Tractor and Equipment
Co., Billings Farmhand and Energy for Tomorrow, a U.S. Department of Labor partnership
between the MSU Billings College of Technology and Dawson Community College.
