MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — College students, like people everywhere, thrive on friendships. But how far are people willing to go to risk those relationships if a friend develops unhealthy drinking habits?
That will be the featured topic of a free presentation by award-winning speaker Carolyn Cornelison at Montana State University Billings.
Cornelison’s talk “Courage 2 Care” will be Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. in Petro Theatre on the MSU Billings main campus. It is sponsored by the MSU Billings Students Against Destructive Decisions; Intermountain Distributing; Yellowjacket Athletics; MSU Billings Student Wellness; and the Yellowstone County DUI Task Force.
It is free and open to the public.
Cornelison, who has more than 1,500 programs in her career, draws on her own personal experiences by painting a very realistic look at collegiate drinking habits. She promotes the power of positive peer influence to help friends who make unhealthy decisions. She helps others recognize the warning signs of out-of-control drinking and offers ways to help friends.
