Launched in the Fall 2021 semester, the Office of International Studies hosts an annual Themed Semester Program during which a variety of events showcasing cultural aspects of a particular region or country take place. While most universities emphasize study abroad as the primary vehicle to internationalizing a campus, in reality only a small percentage of students actually participate in a study abroad experience. The MSUB Global Studies Themed Semesters reach virtually every student, and at the same time provide a global perspective and cultural enrichment for the entire MSUB and Billings communities.

We unfortunately will be unable to continue the impactful Global Studies Seminar: Themed Semester programming due to the loss of MSUB's Title VI UISFL Grant funding. Over the course of each 10-week season, we have been proud to welcome more than 1,000 annual attendees to the cultural events.
Although the program is currently on hold, we hope to offer this important programming again in the future.
