MSU BILLINGS NEWS—Montana State University Billings’ Hispanic Tradition class will be hosting a free screening of the 2017 documentary film, Dolores: Rebel, Activist, Feminist, Mother on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Art House Cinema, located at 109 North 30th Street in Billings.

Dolores Huerta is among the most important, yet least known, activists in American history. An equal partner in co-founding the first farm workers unions with Cesar Chavez, her enormous contributions have gone largely unrecognized. Dolores tirelessly led the fight for racial and labor justice alongside Chavez, becoming one of the most defiant feminists of the twentieth century – and she continues the fight to this day, at 88. With intimate and unprecedented access to this mother of eleven children, the film reveals the personal stakes involved in committing one’s life to social change. The film is directed by Peter Bratt.

This screening is free and open to the public. Sponsors include MSU Billings Department of English, Philosophy and Modern Languages, and MSU Billings Women and Gender Studies Center with community partner, Angela’s Piazza.
