MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — The Montana State University Billings Foundation is set to host their third Wine Studies pre-event for this year’s Wine & Food Festival.

The Wine Study class will be two-hours long, beginning at 6 p.m., February 15 in the MSUB Student Union Building Banquet Rooms A & B.  The cost is $60 per person.

This month’s class will cover information on wines from the desert plains of Patagonia. Patagonia is South America’s southernmost wine-producing region. With its cool, dry, desert climate, it makes Patagonia a less than likely place to grow elegant wines.

However, the region has proved itself by producing elegant reds from Malbec to Pinot Noir. Join Steve Haman, owner of Babcock & Miles in Red Lodge, to discover the wines of Patagonia paired with foods to highlight both wine and fare.

The Wine Study courses are a great way to become educated on different wine selections before the event. A final Wine Study will take place in March.

The Wine & Food Festival’s main events will be May 15-20.
