MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Renowned poet Carol Frost is coming to Montana State University Billings to read from her collection of poetry.
The author of 12 poetry books, Frost will present a poetry reading and talk on Sept. 16 in the Liberal Arts building, room 205, at 7 p.m.
Frost's poems draw on sources ranging from the book of Genesis to Shakespeare works. She writes of the human body, and her poems are rich with the acutely imagined objects of the natural world—whether found off the coast of Florida or in a beehive.
Her most recent poetry book, “Entwined: Three Lyric Sequences,” give readers three perspectives on human awareness and what the poet calls “moral dreaming.” Written over 25 years in three series, the collection explores lineation and inventive punctuation.
Four-time winner of the Pushcart Prize and a two-time recipient of the National Endowment of the Arts fellowship, Frost teaches creative writing at Rollins College.
Frost received a bachelor’s degree in English from SUNY College at Oneonta and a master’s in literature and creative writing from Syracuse University.
Her reading is free and open to the public. A brief time for book signings will follow the talk.
