The free event — a special annual forum by and about women — will be held Thursday, March 15 from 7-9 p.m. in the Lewis and Clark Room at the MSU Billings Student Union Building. This year’s topic is “Myth and Meaning: Reclaiming the Feminine in World Religions.”

Speakers will explore both traditional and modern views of the feminine in the Hindu, Confucian, Pagan, Jewish and Christian traditions, and will examine how religions may be reclaimed to combat the force of patriarchy and improve the status of women.

“Myth and Meaning: Reclaiming the Feminine in World Religions” will highlight both MSU Billings faculty and students, with concern for empowering young women’s voices. Speakers include Eryn Braida, Pamela Doerr, Jill Evans and Ana Diaz, as well as Kim Woeste, the director of United Campus Ministry, and Dr. Lisa Kemmerer, a philosophy professor at MSU Billings.

The first hour of this interactive event is devoted to speakers offering 10-minute presentations. The second hour is reserved for questions and responses from the audience.

“Stirring the Pot” forums, sponsored by United Campus Ministry and philosophy faculty, showcase women’s voices, and are designed to expand understanding of the world we live in and how we live in our world.
