MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — The instructor of the Montana State University Billings College of Technology’s drafting and design program will talk about the digital reconstruction of the mining areas under the town of Red Lodge at a special presentation Thursday in Red Lodge.

Tim Urbaniak, instructor of the two-year program, and MSU Billings alumni Nicholas Andrews will present their work on the underground mining area at the Carbon County Historical Center Thursday at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

During the spring semester of 2011, Andrews led a CIT drafting and design project team of James Duggins, Daniel Kamp and Christopher Grubs in the construction of the three-dimensional model from images of historic maps curated by the Carbon County Historical Society. The presentation will outline the project creation process and display the finished interactive model.
