MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Yellowstone Public Radio staff and volunteers are involved in YPR’s Fall 2011 Fund Drive, one of two weeks each year set aside for on-air fund raising. YPR receives more than 60 percent of its annual funding from individual listener support and business underwriting.

“We wouldn’t be here without generous financial support from our listeners,” said YPR General Manager Ken Siebert. “These on-air fundraising events are the best way to reach out and make the case for that support.”

Funds generated during on-air fund raising go directly toward YPR’s operating costs, such as purchasing programming from a variety of national and international sources, YPR’s broadcast infrastructure maintenance and repair, and the daily operations at the Joseph S. Sample studios on the campus of Montana State University Billings.

On-air fundraising begins today (Monday, Oct. 17) and ends Sunday afternoon Oct. 23. The minimum fundraising goal for the week is $180,000. Pledges of support can be made online at www.ypradio.org and through the mail to:
