MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Anyone who has had a break in their education careers — whether it is a few months or a few years —can get a boost before heading back to college with a special free workshop scheduled in early September at Montana State University Billings.
Student Opportunity Services/TRIO at MSU Billings is sponsoring a “Return to Learn” seminar on Sept. 2-3 at the MSU Billings main campus. The program is free and is available to any student, but is designed especially for students who have been out of school for a while and who are interested in either entering or returning to college.
Presentations and activities focus on making the transition to college pleasant, meaningful and less stressful. Prospective students have the opportunity to learn about financial aid, study skills, college resources and career options. Adult learners, transfer students and students with disabilities will find the “Return to Learn” seminar helpful and enjoyable.
“Return to Learn” will be held in the College of Education building, room 427, from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. on Sept. 2-3. Although pre-registration is not required, it is appreciated.
For more information contact Jim Haw at the MSU Billings SOS/TRIO office at 657-2162. SOS/TRiO is funded through the U.S. Department of Education and serves about 250 students a year through mentorships, tutoring and support at MSU Billings.
