MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — “Essen…” “Tabemono…” “Nourriture…” “Hiwu…”

What do these have in common? They all represent the same word — food — which will be brought to Billings from all around the world on Wednesday, March 25 for the 6th annual Montana State University Billings International Food Fair.

International Food Festival on the MSU Billings campusThe event, which is open to the public, will be held in the Student Union Ballroom at the MSU Billings main campus, 1500 University Drive, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Food tickets will be available for purchase for $1 and items will be sold for between $1 and $4 each.

The International Food Festival is a project of the MSU Billings International Studies Club and presented in conjunction with local restaurants and other MSU Billings clubs. The global festivities feature sampling of foods and cultural education from around the world. Attendees can travel through time and space to live within the worlds of international students, faculty and staff without ever leaving Billings.

Throughout the event, foods will be presented from Japan, Kenya, China, Korea, Mexico, France, Canada, the Middle East and Germany. In addition, international students will be sharing pieces of culture and language. Music and photographs from around the world will set the mood. Various activities like writing Japanese characters, learning the art of putting on kimonos, global trivia, raffles, and more will also be available to enhance the dining experience.
