Free event set for Thursday

 

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — A discussion of how the criminal justice system really works – from fish and game to federal courts – will be the focus of a presentation this week at Montana State University Billings.

 

A criminal justice roundtable, “Myths and Realities in Criminal Justice,” will be held Thursday, from 12:10 to 1:40 p.m. in Liberal Arts 306 on the MSU Bilings. Sponsored by the Department of Sociology, Political Science and Native American Studies, the event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

 

Issues ranging from local law enforcement to fish and wildlife laws to federal law enforcement will be discussed by a panel of distinguished experts. The panelists include:

  • Richard St. John, Billings Police Chief
  • Kurt Alme, U.S. Attorney
  • Doug Andersen, Child Protective Services
  • Harold Guse, Fish, Wildlife and Parks
  • Jay Bell, Yellowstone County Undersheriff
  • Dennis Paxinos, Yellowstone County Attorney’s Office
  • Dwight MacKay, US Marshall
