MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Families with young ghosts, goblins, Care Bears and Iron Men can get a head start on Halloween this year when Montana State University Billings residence halls students open up the floors for trick-or-treating.

trick-treat kid1.jpgStudents who live in the residence halls, their resident assistants and other volunteers will turn Petro Hall and Rimrock Hall into fun, safe and warm trick-or-treating venues on Wednesday, Oct. 29. Trick-or-Treating in the Halls runs from 6-8 p.m. and is open to children 12 and under and their parents.

This is the third year that the MSU Billings housing staff has offered the trick-or-treating setting. Beth Carlson and Jackie Alisch, both resident assistants in Petro Hall, said the event is a safe and secure way for parents and little trick-or-treaters to get a jump start on Halloween. Students and their RAs will decorate the halls and provide guides for groups of trick-or-treaters.

Last year, about 300 trick-or-treaters came through the halls, Carlson said. The event was moved from Halloween night this year to not compete with neighborhood or family gatherings.

The event is funded by the Associated Students of MSU Billings, the residence hall staff and volunteer donations.
