MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Ongoing and persistent water quality issues around the world will be the focus of a presentation at Montana State University Billings next week.
Nadine Hart, a physician’s assistant at St. Vincent Healthcare and one of the founders of the nonprofit group Hope 2 One Life (H2O Life), will make a presentation on LifeStraws and World Water Day on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 6:30 p.m. at the MSU Billings Student Union Building. The presentation — sponsored by Catholic Campus Ministry — is free and open to the public.
Hart will demonstrate how LifeStraws work and talk about how the technology of the
small device has helped children in poverty-stricken parts of the world get clean
drinking water.
Hart began going to Africa four years ago on a medical mission in order to provide health care and medicines to citizens of Uganda. While there, she learned about the lack of resources for villages to get clean drinking water. Through her efforts of beginning the H20 Life organization, several local schools and organizations have raised money for the organization to purchase LifeStraws for children and families so that they can drink clean water. She has returned to Africa a number of times in recent years and has presented LifeStraws to hundreds of children and families.
