Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SeAMK) is a multidisciplinary institution of higher education in the region of South Ostrobothnia in West Finland. SeAMK has colleges of Food and Agriculture, Business and Culture, Healthcare, and Social Work. SeAMK offers a variety of course content for exchange students, the most popular of which for MSUB students tends to be its programs in international business, physiotherapy, nursing, and cultural management studies. Physiotherapy, in particular, is uniquely popular in that it allows Health and Human Performance students the opportunity to gain practical internship experience in sports medicine. SeAMK also has colleges of Food and Agriculture, Business and Culture, Healthcare, and Social Work.
Seinäjoki is the center of South Ostrobothnia and one of the fastest growing urban areas in Finland. With a population of about 61,500, this area has a welcoming urban environment that has short distances between services and amenities.

Accommodation
Student apartments are available within a short walking distance from campus and the city center. Accommodation options include studio or shared apartments, starting from 1 room + kitchen/kitchenette to larger family apartments with 2–3 rooms + kitchen. Apartments with 2–3 rooms + kitchen can also be rented as shared apartments.
The cost of rent for these particular apartments includes internet, electricity, heat, water, laundry, and access to a sauna. Students may be eligible for accommodation subsidies.

Costs
MSUB students studying abroad at SeAMK pay MSUB tuition & fees. Students are expected to pay for their room and board in Finland upon arrival to SeAMK. Two-bedroom shared apartments range from $284-$391 per month. A one-bedroom apartment ranges from $408-$539 per month. This cost includes utilities, laundry and access to the sauna. The estimated monthly cost of living ranges from $650-$1,000, depending on lifestyle.
Students also should budget in the cost of attaining a Finnish Resident Permit, required for students studying longer than three months. See the next section for more information.
Visa / Residence Permit
All students planning on studying at this SeAMK must obtain a Finnish residence permit. The Residence Permit application can be submitted online but you must go to an in-person meeting for biometrics and to turn in your passport at the Consulate General of Finland in Los Angeles. The residence permit costs 350€ (±$490).
At the visa interview, students must show proof of having access to at least 560€ (±$625) per month for the duration of your exchange in Finland.

Health Insurance
To ensure comprehensive and quality coverage, all study abroad students are required to enroll in insurance that is provided through the designated Montana University System insurance provider. Please consult with the Study Abroad Coordinator for further information. This insurance is affordable with a typical semester averaging about $250.
